Carl Bidex Rotary Trimmer

Our office already has a great guillotine cutter that can cut through phone books, but it can't handle cutting individual sheets. We needed a good rotary trimmer that was big enough to cut large sheets of poster board, but very precise. So far, this has been an excellent purchase and meets our needs perfectly!

A must have for any Pro Photo / Detailing work.

I do a little bit of photo work and printing in my off time and was in need some thing better than what I was using and was advised I was probably in need of a good rotary trimmer. Had previosly having worked with a guillotine paper cutter and I was never impressed with the final results sometimes leaving the frayed or bent edges on the paper. Alway having to make fixes or clean up work on my cut mat and hand rotary cutter. Taking recommendation from a few of my pro photo friends, several online Photo blog sites and reading just about every review. Needing something that wasn't to overly large or heavy or massively expensive and easily portable, I chose the CARL 12250 Bidex Heavy-Duty Rotary Trimmer, 14-1/2 x 37 base, 25 cut. I couldn't miss with cost being as good as it was on Amazon. Then I was really impressed after having recieve the (CARL 12250) Trimmer, the packaging alone was totally professional and then open it up and seeing the absolute soild build quility. Then the finer and detailed end results of what it could manage working with some of my larger and smaller printed work. No frayed edges, creases, twisted or bending of the paper, and leaving no doubt that this was absolutely right and best decision and wonder why I every went with a guillotine paper cutter in the first place. I would definetely recommend Carl trimmers to anyone who into photo work as a hobby or even as a profession and crafters alike.

works great for the price

There are much better products out there, but it will cost more.The weakness in this cutter is its inability to apply enough pressure in center of the clamp. The glide is not perfect either, therefore, the cut is not always a straight line, but curved. If perfection is not required, this unit would be perfect.
