Beautiful, but shoddy construction
By A. Biggs
My husband and I purchased the Ashfield Tub and Shower Faucet for the master bathroom in the (currently in progress) addition to our house. The set is beautiful, but the construction is shabby. The handle wobbles! We were very disappointed and would have returned it and started looking again... but the plumber either took the box/literature or threw it out. We can only hope that the sink faucets turn out better, since we're now stuck with them if we want a matching set. This wasn't worth the price (we paid about $200)- if you can get it discounted, great, but beware. Incidentally, after we learned about the problem, we tried the display in the nearby box store and it had the same issue, which leads me to believe that this is not an isolated flaw.Update 9/26/12: We've been using this shower set for almost four years now, and over the last six months the handle has become less reliable. A few times I've walked into the bathroom and found the handle in its "off" position, but the faucet still dripping. This morning, there was actually a steady trickle coming out of the faucet, and I had to *play* with the handle for a few minutes to get it to stop. I am not happy with the performance of this item: bathtub hardware should be problem-free for much, much longer than 3 1/2 years. As a side note, the sink faucets in this line have been performing at a higher level; we have had no problems whatsoever.

Beautiful, but stationary and you'll need a printer
By Anyone
This showerhead and faucet pairing is beautiful. It's styling is elegant and the shower itself is enjoyable. It provides a nice wide shower stream and steady pressure. We put this in a bathroom that had a plastic shower stall, but now has a 54 inch tub, these fixtures and white subway tile with blue glass mosaic trim. It's gorgeous and this piece cost more than the tile, even on Amazon, where we found the best price by far.Two complaints, or at least things you should know before purchasing. The showerhead does not move at all. There is no angling up or turning to the side or anything. The water comes down in one spot. That's it. Also, my set did not include instructions. Not a problem for the experienced plumber I hired, but frustrating. I ended up calling them up as a pdf and printing.

Poorly constructed and cheap finish
By AP US History Teacher
I purchased this 2 years ago and the finish on the spout is peeling. The handle assembly has loosened up as well. I thought I could simply remove the handle assembly and tighten it, but the handle is riveted into the housing, so there is nothing to tighten. Replacement parts are costly as well. The spout is $65 and the handle is $95. Overall it is a good looking faucet but the construction and finishing are both weak.
