Product Description
Power Pro begins with ultra-strong braided Spectra Fiber, which is treated to create an incredibly round, smooth and sensitive line. The Power Pro Hi-Vis Yellow was developed for applications where seeing your line is critical. Many anglers will utilize short flourocarbon leaders with this color line, especially in clear water. Applications for Hi-Vis lines range from bobber fishing the rivers in the Pacific Northwest to fly-lining sardines and anchovies along the California coast; fishing the lakes and rivers of the central regions for bass, walleye and catfish to targeting fluke and stripers in the Northeast. Pelagic fishermen looking for better spread management to inshore anglers targeting snook, redfish and trout. Hi-Vis Yellow can give you an advantage in all applications.

This changes everything
By R. Cong-leton
This line has a rounder profile than other braided fishing lines, causing less problems from spooling on spinning reels and running through lineguides. Due to its lack of stretch ( 98-99% stretchfree ) it is hypersensitive, with both bite detection and hookups being virtually instantaneous. Though some colours tend to bleed or rub off in use, that does not seem to have any effect on the line's quality, as this stuff does not seem to deteriorate from one season to another. Also, as this line has about 1/4 - 1/5 the diameter of an eqivalent poundage of monofilament, lesser weight lures can be used with an equal ( thinner diameter ) test to fish deeper water. A few caveats to remember: Use a monofilament backing of equavilent diameter - 25 to 50 meters - with spinning reels ( I can not comment on conventionals as I do not really use any ) to protect the spool from the pressure of this line and the possible effects of corrosion from saltwater trapped in it; Use swivels whenever possible when joining the tag end to the leader of florocarbon or monofilament. This will aid in reducing line twists; Use a knot specifically designed for this line or face the loss of terminal tackle AND/or fish - a LOT of terminal tackle and fish; On spinning reels, close the bail manually and tighten the the first 6-10 inches of line on the retrieve. This will soon become second nature after the first 3-4 times if done consistantly; Do not overfill your spool - make it a point to fill it only about 3/4 the way. This line is smooth enough to glide over itself for extended casts without being full like monofilament requires; Above all, NEVER, EVER try to break this stuff with your bare hands: the low stretch, small diameter, and strength all combine to cut skin like a razor. Even when grabbed casually, expect a laceration of some type or degree. If you use common sense and follow safety protocols, you will love this line, have fun and really appreciate this new ally in catching that fish of a lifetime.

Works on Alaskan sized fish...
By J. Sterling
I have been using PowerPro on my ocean going boat for about 5 years now (I think?), and I will not use anything else. I have 30# PowerPro for my salmon trolling gear, and 80# for my halibut line. It works GREAT. I've caught up to 70# King Salmon on the ocean with the 30# line and never had an issue. I've caught a halibut that was guesstimated at over 300# with the 80# line! Granted, we never got that big halibut to the boat... BECAUSE THE HOOK BROKE before the line did. After 2.5 hours of fighting it, the hook straightened out and the fish got away. In 20 years of halibut fishing out of Homer Alaska, that was the biggest fish I have hooked, and it's only a guess but I'm saying 300+. I've caught a number over 100-200# and this one was far harder to reel up and fight with. But regardless of the size, the hook gave out before the line broke.I love the fact that it is much thinner than normal line. With the tides in Cook Inlet Alaska, we have a tidal difference of up to 30 feet. That's a LOT of water moving, so sometimes there is just too much tide to fish the bottom. Using the PowerPro line allows me more bottom time as it is not as affected by the tide since it is narrower therefore there is less drag against the line. The biggest thing with this line, and any line for that matter, is to strip some off and retie your terminal tackle, as the line at the end will chaff and get nicked - you just cannot get away from that, it's a byproduct of fishing. And with doing that, I have had the same line spooled on my reels for over 5 years. I'm finally getting new line to respool my reels, and it's all PowerPro.

Great Line
By steve
Power Pro is super thin and very strong. Great for light tackle fishing. I love the visibility of the Yellow.
