5Wonderful
By Antoine A. Davis
These boots are literary the best pair I've had in years. I live up north in NY state where in the winter it's cold. Plus I work at a car wash and I'm around water all day. These boot keep my feet dry and warm all day. I've been working at the car wash for almost 5 years and till this day can't believe that I found a good pair of boots.

5Excellent Quality
By J. Shelton
These boots were excellent quality. They kept my son's feet very warm in very cold and windy weather. His feet did not get wet or cold while tubing, airboarding, sledding and playing in snow. Being from Florida, he would of complained at the first chance about his feet being cold and he did not. Loved them!!! Well worth the money.

5Great for Winters
By I. Makarov
My wife bought me these boots for my birthday. Although we live in sunny California, we do travel to cold snowy places in winters. I just wore these while walking in the snow for the past few days (I often go off road with my digital camera). While walking to my knees in the snow, these boots have kept my feet warm and dry - I'm very impressed. They're not too heavy but comfortable.

4Great fun!
By Alex Cox
I bought this set because, as a grown man, I really couldn't justify spending much more money than this on a toy. Still, it brought me back to my youth! I've always liked the LEGO Technic sets, and it seems like they've come a long way since the last time I put one together. I made the "A" model, the dune buggy - with rear suspension and a "working" 2-cylinder engine. It was very interesting to put together, and well-planned. It took me about an hour, and now I've got a very detailed dune buggy with working steering and suspension. I haven't made the "B" model as I can't bring myself to take apart the buggy yet, but I expect it'll be just as good. Now I have to stop myself from getting bigger Technic sets now that I've been reminded how much fun they are.

5A sleeper!
By R. Ferguson
Late 2009 update: Lego should be releasing a new dune buggy in 2010 (#8048) that is very similar but sports a new suspension.I did not expect too much from this model but in the end it has proven a very fun, robust model. It is a simple design that works very well. The engineering principles are easy to see and it holds up to rough play from the children. Updated December 2008: this set is now out of production and becoming scarce. This is not a very large set and you may find better value in some of the newer, in-production sets (e.g., Lego 8256, 8261 and especially 8262).

5Incrementallu educational, fun and at the right pace
By Manish Laxmikant
I got this for my son to see if he was as much a leo maniac as his dad. If not, I thought it would teach him a basic concept or two. It's a nice product when finished. My son now understands why cars have a suspension and how they steer. The piston concept is a little unusual and reversed, and I took longer to explain why the wheels are driving the pistons when it really is the other way around in real life (well unless you're coasting where the engine is simply being run by the engaged wheels) Also, pistons are supposed to be closed so while that part can be explained to older kids. younger ones may not get it. But STOP right there. Kids are entitled to their fun and everything shouldn't simply be looked at from its educational value. I just got carried away by my educational background. Technic lego skips the silly little details in exchange for the big picture. I recall being able to understand how a differential works far better than I would with something far more realistic, thanks to the more complex car chassis set I had when I was young. The main thing is, this is fun to build and play with, and somewhat educational as a bonus. Don't try too hard to make it a teaching tool - it's really just good fun to make a toy that has working things on it and that gives kids a sense of achievement different from building something totally static.

5Excellent Boot for Problem Feet
By S. M.
Because I suffer from severe Plantar Fasciitis in both feet I was sceptical about ordering any kind of footware via the internet. I received a pair of Columbia boots for Christmas however I returned them because they lacked arch support. After reading the reviews, I decided to give these Sorels a try. I ordered a half size larger then I normally wear as I use a thin insole. These are wonderful boots. They are not big, clunky, heavy boots. My feet stay warm and dry but most important, to me, is these boots do not cause any foot pain. The foot-bed is soft and offers excellent arch support. I would recommend these boots to anyone who suffers from Plantar Fasciitis (or not). I couldn't be more pleased!

5Fabulous winter boots!
By C. Capela
I had been eyeing these boots since last winter and now that we've had over 12" of snow already this winter and 40 degrees feels warm, I made sure these boots made it on my Christmas list. I am so happy! I chose the oyster color and it is a nice, stylish neutral (a soft grey with sort of an ice blue undertone to it).Size-wise, I typically wear a size 8. However, after looking at their sizing chart (a must-do!) and also knowing I typically wear thicker socks in the winter that are difficult to squeeze into my size 8 shoes, I had my husband order me a size 9. I have worn them several times now with regular, non-bulky socks, and I feel like I do have some extra room for bulkier socks, but the extra room I gave myself doesn't feel like I'm swimming in the boots. I'm pretty confident that I ordered just the right size. I might have been able to go with a size 8.5, but I might not get my thicker socks in there as comfortably.Additionally, these boots are very well constructed, feel light on my feet despite being a winter boot, and most important of all they keep my feet warm! Hallelujah! Seriously, my feet feel like frozen blocks of ice in the winter. Once I go outside my feet get cold and they stay cold for hours it seems. Not with these boots. My feet stay warm! With regard to price, I've never paid more than $40 for a pair of winter boots (and all they ended up being were bulky weights that never kept my feet warm), but I've also never lived in this much snow, so I saw this as the time to make the investment. I have no doubts I'm going to get a ton of use out of these boots and be warm every single time! The -only- adjustment I'm still getting used to with regard to these boots is driving with them. I don't typically wear boots at all, so I'm not used to any limited flexibility in my ankle. I do not feel that it's a hazard to drive with them - they're not bulky nor heavy - I just have to either loosen the laces or put a little more pressure to press down on the gas pedal. No issue pressing the brake pedal -- just flexing the ankle to press the gas pedal. Perhaps this will work itself out as I continue to break them in.Also, all my prior winter boots were zip-up, but these lace up boots take no time at all. I slide my foot in, tuck my pant leg in (they're a great height), and pull the laces tight (they tighten up very smoothly with ease), and then tie 'em up. No fuss. It's also really nice that the tongue of the boot is constructed to keep snow out. That's a huge plus. So, final conclusion, these are fabulous winter boots!

5Sorel Cumberland is fantastic
By Rachel
I bought the Sorel Cumberland boots form Amazon just over a week ago. I live in New Zealand and spend as much time in the snow in winter as possible. Firstly the delivery was fantastic. The boots went through 3 different countries before they got here and the whole process only took 5 days!Secondly, the boots look great and are incredibly warm and comfortable. I was a little worrried about getting the size correct, but went to the Sorel website, measured my feet and worked out from the sizing graph which size to get. The fit is perfect.Thank you Amazon and Backcountry I am truly impressed with your speed and service.
