Easy to install and sounds great

Simple to replace and I could even keep the OEM cover on top of it, so it looks almost stock. Performance is great. Pretty simple stage 1 mod.

Works as advertised. One thing that concerned me before I bought it that turns out not to be a problem. You can run it without a cover. It requires the addition of one bolt which you can get at any hardware store. There is however one problem if you have an 04 or newer sportster. They use different head breather bolts depending on which type you need (04 is different than the older models) and the 04 and newer is a hex head bolt. The location of that bolt requires a very flat open end wrench to turn it. Mine are to big and I am not sure how I would have gotten em on without the help of a mechanic friend with a better selection of tools than I have. Older models use an allen head bold which works just fine. The Ness website has an installation video which is a very useful supplement to their (kind of skimpy) written instructions.

Wonderful!

I replaced the stock air filter assembly on my 1997 1200 Sporty with this gem. Installation was a snap and once I upped the carb jetting a bit, bike runs great. I fabricated a custom cover from a circular piece of lexan , painted and polished. End result is fabulous!
