By Michael S. Showalter
I purchased this throne on Saturday, it arrived on Thursday, even though I used free "Super Saver Shipping." I don't have many hours on it yet, but upon first inspection and use, it is a very sturdy throne. I'm 6'0", 200lbs, and this thing stands up to my weight easily. It looks great, I don't mind having this sitting in my family room where it can be seen. One thing I want to mention, I adjusted the seat to the lowest possible setting and it was still 18" high. This will probably not be a problem for most drummers, but some guys like to sit low, and smaller kids might find it too high.Pros:1) Very sturdy/heavy duty.2) Nice looking drum throne.3) Comfortable seat with firm support and not too soft.4) Super easy to set up, with a locking collar so you can easily set it to your favorite height every time.Cons:1) Seat does not spin. If you want this feature, you'll have to spend extra.2) Lowest possible adjustment is 18". This should be fine for most drummers. All in all I highly recommend this throne at the price!

By W. RHODES
Recently received the Mapex T-570A and I'm very impressed. No, it's not one of those $29.00 thrones, and the quality is evident right out of the box. The fit and finish is tight and beautiful. No thin 'see-though' chrome here...this thing is HEAVY. Built for the Big Boys. No clunky, shakey leg braces with this heavyweight's double-braced gams. It has a 5 year warranty. That 4" foam seat feels like you could trust it to practice for a few minutes more without a tired-butt. The 2-way, variable height adjustment seems to be well thought out. It really grips the bar attached to the foam seat--very tight; very secure. I've seen the cheepos crack in the plywood underneath and the foam fall apart over just a few months of use. I'll know more later as I use it more(casual, middle-aged hobby drumming at home), but for right now, I'm glad I spent good money for a good one. Amazon had the best price--free shipping--got here in 4 days. Yep, Momma said you get what you pay for...

By Amazon Rulez
As many of you know from browsing drum thrones on here, there's not many inexpencive double thick thrones to choose from. With my first drum set 10 years ago, which was the Pearl Export I had this basic thin cushion Pearl throne that worked fine for quite a while for me and my friends who used to jam with me. Though that was when I was younger and weighed a bit less. Now that I am older and weigh about 240 or so I knew I needed something with more support. Well I hate to mix brands like this and like to keep everything the same but after weighing my options available this seemed like the most obvious choice when it came to price vs quality and features. I have to say I made a great choice and I am happy to have the Mapex name within my setup!! The seat is of great quality, it's thick and it's firm at first but the more you sit on it the better it feels. The base of it is a beast. Very thick legs, durable rubber feet, massive memory lock, massive wing nuts to grab onto when tightening the seat to the post and when tightening it up when you choose your height. Also don't be affraid of it being too thick or that you won't be able to sit low enough. It sits low enough to have my legs flush to the floot or you can extend the hell out of it and it's perfectly stable at that height as well. This seat was about $80 when I got it and $77 now. This seat is worth at least $125 or more. It is a steal...... but don't tell Amazon that lol! :DAnyway's sick seat for a sick price, don't pass it up if you are in need of a seat within a budget!
