By lacehops
I'll start with the frustrating part: It took my husband and I about 2 hours working together to get this thing assembled. The instructions were easy to follow and clear, but there were just a lot of steps and pieces. Now for the good parts: The instructions are not confusing at all, the product is in excellent condition, and the end result is FABULOUS for the price! No gaps or spaces, no scratches or holes, no missing pieces, etc. It looks almost identical to a dresser that a friend of mine has in her nursery, except hers was $360! The sliding parts are plastic, but I like it because it makes opening and closing the drawers so quiet! It is sturdy and I feel it will hold up well over time.I was a little worried about what I was getting into after reading several other reviews, but I am very happy with my purchase! Knowing what I know now, I would have no problem with purchasing this exact product again!

By teejayzee
Well, first I need to say that the dresser was shipped by AMAZON via UPS. The mail carrier dropped the large box at my door w/o knocking. Which was usual. I just happened to be home and heard them drive off. When I got the package off my porch, I noticed the the entire bottom was soaked with water. I opened the package up and found that many of the pieces were water damaged.I know I probably should just send it back, but I'm nine months pregnant, and just wanted to get the nursery DONE! So, I let the pieces dry and put them together, hoping it wouldn't be so bad.Even without the water damage though, I think this dresser is EXACTLY what you pay for. It is cheap and not so pleasing to the eyes. While putting it together, there was difficulty with some screws fitting in the holes (or absent holes) that ended up leaving ugly markings through some of the pieces, only noticeable from the inside of the drawers. Still, not a sign of quality furniture. And not really what I had in mind. The small-sized drawers did not fit nicely in the base once completed. They all look unevenly spaced. I'm sure I could try and reset each to make them look better... but, that's gonna take some freetime, that I just don't have now. Not to mention, it needs a fresh coat of paint b/c of the water damage.I've actually recently purchase a comparable children's furniture set at Target (Delaney line in white or honey oak) for my older child's room and found it BY FAR better quality and easier to assemble, for very close to the same price! I would strongly recommend that set over this one.

First off, I don't understand why people complain about it being a cheap product. Of course it is! You're buying it for under $200 and it's listed that it is composite wood. If you want something that is going to last for endless years put in the money for it and buy real wood. So know when you get it that you're getting an attractive piece but it won't be a family heirloom. If instead you're trying to do a themed nursery or room that may easily change in a few years, then buy this and don't worry if it's not the best quality because you're getting a great look for a great price.Assembly was pretty easy just a bit time consuming. Two grandmas and a 9 months pregnant lady put it together, but it could be put together by one person. The small screws and pieces were nicely packaged that made it fairly easy to make sure we had all the parts before starting. At one point I thought we were missing 4 pieces and was about to contact the manufacturer when I found a slip of paper in the box that said the piece was no longer included due to improvements they made.A few disappointments: The set is narrower than I expected. I had been looking for something close to IKEA's Hemnes collection and I thought these measurements were just a little bit smaller but in the same ball park. In actuality the top of the dresser is exactly the size of a summer infant contour pad. If you're using your dresser as a changing table, nothing else but the pad will fit on top. However, that's my fault in not taking out a measuring tape and visually seeing what it would be, the dimensions are clearly listed on the website.Secondly, the drawer fronts make it look like you will have nice deep drawers, but when you assemble, the drawer faces are a good 2 inches bigger than the actual drawer. Fortunately you can still fill up the drawers a little higher than the sides, but I wish everything was the depth of the face. The drawer sliders are plastic but they're pretty sturdy and they have a neat locking feature so the drawers don't fall out. A good thing for something kids will use. It also makes the drawers really quiet which is a plus if you need to get into them with a sleeping baby. You do need your own tools (a hammer and phillip's screwdriver) but I actually prefer that to the cheap tools that a lot of other assembly furniture send with their product. All in all I'm happy I bought this because I got it for around a $100 after my registry completion coupon and a sale that was going on. I would recommend this product but think that people need to be sure of what they really want. It doesn't make sense to me when people buy this and expect it to be a top of the line furniture when they paid 1/4 of the price.
