great product - the best i've seen

Ordered this a 4pm on a Thursday, showed up at 10am Friday with Amazon Prime shipping. Opened the package and was very happy to see how good this product was. It has a tarp-like top side and a felt-like bottom side that allows for fast water penetration (I ran a scrap of it under the kitchen faucet to test it). I also pulled at the sample piece to check for tearing. Even pulling on the bias (diagonally), I couldn't tear it. I like that it comes in a 6 foot roll which will save a lot of labor and landscaping pins. I have never seen anything this good for sale in any of the big boxes. Despite the extra cost, it is well worth it.

fabric held up well and did contain the weeds

I tried to use this fabric in three 150ft rows of watermelon in 2012 garden. The fabric works well it is just keeping the fabric down until the plants are established that is a problem. I lost 250 ft/ 450ft due to a wind storm. I had used the 6" pins and they just weren't long enough to hold in garden soil. Once wind pulls it up and plants are in ground you can forget about setting it back down easily. Next year I will try to bury the edges under the dirt somehow so the wind can't catch the edge and pull it all up. Weeds will grow up even in the little slits that you plant the watermelon seedlings. Black color held in the heat and since I installed drip irrigation under the fabric all was well with watermelon production.
