They keep me dry when I go kayak fishing, even through the waves! Straps on the ankle are convenient because I don't like closed sock type. That pocket on the right knee also keep my wallet and cellphone dry. They don't get too hot when the some comes out either. I'm should actually buy another in case something ever happens to my pair.
