Inner workings NOT exposed!

Almost everything about this watch is great- the gunmetal is amazing and sleek, it has good weight, the face is a great size. My problem with this is that the 'cutout' that supposedly exposes the inner workings does NOT do so. It just looks like someone embossed gear shapes on the cut-out except for one random circle piece right above 6'o'clock that rotates every second. I wanted a watch that truly exposed the gears as the description of this watch said. So, if you don't really care about that, then I'm pretty sure you'd love this watch. As it is, I'm pretty ticked off as this was supposed to be a gift.
