By Don
I ordered this watch from Amazon sight unseen. Arrived as promised. Cost me $10 to have it fitted. I cannot figure out what a Rolex, TAG,or Breitling have that this doesn't. If you pay MSRP at a jewelers of dept store, you have too much money. I think this is better looking at a fraction of the cost. I does have the serial number on the watch. This is first quality, top of the line, authentic - at a great price. I also received all the paperwork in English. No worries. My third Seiko in last 15 years and have had no problems ever with any of them.

Let me just start by saying that I am a diehard Seiko fan. They make some of the best watches for some of the best prices out there. I've had a kinetic for going on 10 years now, and it's been absolutely flawless. Never had an issue with it, it keeps very accurate time, and as long as you wear it every now and then, it never dies.So here comes Father's Day 2012, and I decided it's time for another really nice Seiko. I've been a really good father (polishes fingernails on shirt) and I wanted a kinetic that looked great, wore really well, and had some cool features to it. This watch covers all of that and more, for a very good price.First, it looks great, like I said. It looks about a 100 times better than the stock photo that's on Amazon. Whoever provided that greyish, not-quite-focused picture needs to be horsewhipped for desecrating the beauty of this watch. If you're considering this watch and want some better images, just google Seiko Velatura SRH005 and you'll see much clearer, better pictures. There's also a good review (not mine) of it on youtube. It wears really well. It is the perfect size for me; substantial, without being too much so. Not like some of those godawful Flava Flav-sized Invictas, anyway. Its shape is slightly contoured to wrap around your wrist, so it feels smaller than it is. The brushed stainless construction, polished hands and markers, and crystal-clear sapphire crystal really makes it shine. I even like the band- at first I wasn't sure what I'd think of the black urethane inserts in the links, but now that it's on my wrist I wouldn't change it.The direct drive is a really fun and unique way to charge the watch. I actually had to get it to start that way- the watch arrived with a flat battery (must have sat on the shelf too long) but I started cranking the crown and sure enough it started charging, and working. The power meter even works when you just move the watch, and activate the kinetic rotor.I'd definitely buy this watch again.

Beautiful watch- I wear it as often as I can. The quartz movement has so far gained only 2 seconds in the past 2 weeks, which as I understand is well within the standard of +/- 15 sec per month. Purchasing through Amazon was convenient, fast, and probably one of the best prices you'll find (around $599 including shipping when I bought mine). The face of watch and the bracelet look great. I have relatively small man wrists, but I don't think it's too big. I like the technology behind the kinetic direct drive movement, and I've found that regular wear of the watch is sufficient to keep the "charge meter" above the halfway point- I don't need to wind it by hand. One note: when I took the watch to get the bracelet sized for me, the clerk noted that the pins holding the links together sat a lot looser than comparable pins on other watches (i.e. the Tag Heuers they sold). I pushed on them myself and used a push pin to make certain that the pin was fully seated into the "collars" of the links. I haven't noticed any excess play that would cause concern.
