The NWA-3163 Access Point is a WLAN solution featuring high-power 2.4 GHz, 802.11b/g and PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) capabilities designed for small- to medium-sized enterprises. It is built with LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) material and is compliant with UL2043, the so-called plenum rating that supports installation in environmental airspaces such as areas above suspended ceilings. Can't believe it does not cost more

Let me start by saying I have been using ZyXEL products now since about 2005. I have installed over 60 devices including firewalls, switches, and wireless access points. I had 1 $30 switch go bad and they replaced it no problem. So the hardware is excellent! The software is very powerful and I admit a little bit of a learning curve but once you figure it out there is so much you can do with it. This wireless access point is solid, I have installed around 10 of these now and have them setup in the controller slave configuration.Be careful the similar unit that has wireless N capabilities cannot be a controller and an access point at the same time but this model can.So once you setup the controller you plug in the other APs that you want as slaves, once you are in the web interface you set the controllers IP address or you can setup the option in your DHCP scope and thats it. Each slave just grabs a DHCP address and you put them wherever. Then go into the controller and register the slaves.Highly recommended oh and they have great tech support where someone in California answers a phone and speaks english! Plus free firmware updates for life.
