Kayak attachment for 2012 CRV

I bought this to see if I "even" needed it for my Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120 Kayak. I thought I could just rope down my kayak to the cross bars, man am I happy that I bought this attachment. The attachment goes on easy enough, requiring no tools at all! The hardest part was adjusting the width to match my kayak. The front two attachments are adjustable to form a "J" so it hugs the side of the kayak perfectly, I used some tie downs that ratchet down and since the antenna is in the center of the back of the car, we mounted the attachment on the passengers side. After getting the width down I strapped the kayak down and drove to the river!! Putting the kayak back on the car was so simple. The attachment is designed so you can slide the kayak onto the car from the back of the car. I was able to do this (nearly) alone. I love this attachment, it was precisely what we were looking for. I left the sun roof open while we drove and the kayak barely even moved.

I checked the dealership for the price on this item and it was almost twice as much. I am so glad I checked on Amazon. No problems, easy to attach, used it all summer.

Kayak Carrier

Having brought a Kayak, I needed a way of transporting it. This works well, expensive and delivery delayed by 3 days to "process order" so ended up waiting a week after all the other stuff to arrive. Went on very easily but the straps were a joke. Too short at 6 ft to go around a 12 ft long kayak and ended up buying 12 ft straps that worked well. For the price you woud have thougth they could have provided more universal straps.
