Flensted Mobiles are a traditional handicraft in Denmark. The first modern designer mobile was made there in 1954. Today Flensted Mobiles is based on the Danish island of Funen, the birthplace of Hans Christian Anderson, where it creates its very own design fairy tales from the old village school in Brenderup. An interplay of shape and color in movement that is perfectly suited to the contemporary interior. Created in 1955 by Christian Flensted.

We bought this mobile for our infant daughter's room. She's fascinated by it, it moves gracefully and easily with the slightest air movement, but one side of it is black. It moves so easily that we see the black side as often as we see the colors. Not that there's anything wrong with a black mobile, but the pictures all show the colors, so we expected colors on both sides and are somewhat disappointed given the price.

Love this mobile! Very zen and relaxing - will be buying more Flensted mobiles as gifts. The red and black adds the perfect touch of color in my den.

We have two of Flensted's mobiles. They are extremely well made, and you realize you are buying "art" not a trinket. You will not be disappointed
