Strong, nicely finished desk

I bought this desk to use in our guest bedroom/home office. It is a small room and we needed something that two people could sit at and use laptops. It is the perfect size and allows my wife and I to sit next to each other, comfortably, using our laptops. Our printer sits in the middle of the two of us.The desk is solid, well built and fit together perfectly. The finish is very nice and looks like it will hold up well for a long time to come. My only complaint, and the reason for not giving it five stars, is that the cable management trays are flimsy. They have tabs that are meant to hold the cables down but four of the six were broken off upon opening the box and one of the other ones fell off in my hand after opening and closing it twice. Also, they are not secured well enough to the desk. They still work and with the use of zip ties I have secured all the wires but the cable management trays are not anywhere near the quality of the desk itself.Overall, I would highly recommend the desk. We like it so much that we bought the matching bookshelf. Just don't expect the the best cable management trays.

Better than I hoped.

I've owned and assembled more cheap particle board furniture than I care to admit.This IS particle board assembled with cam locks and pins just like the rest of them, but this is the first piece of this type of construction that I would use words like "Nice", "Sturdy", "Quality" to describe.The desktop and the legs are all very solid 1" thick board, the board itself seems to be extra dense and solid. The pins and cam locks are heavier duty that most I've seen.The veneer on the desktop seems thicker than most, and plastic molding isn't just wedged into the groove around the top. It appears to be glued it's entire length, and there are no warped spots and you can't hook the edge with a finger nail it's in so tight.Assemble was quick and easy, with decent instructions, and no missing pieces.Normally I figure this type of furniture to be fine if you assemble it where it's going to be used, but typically it self destructs if you have to take it apart to move it, or sometimes even collapses from the stresses of moving even if you don't take it apart. I have not had the need to move this around much, but I get the impression it would deal with moves pretty easily.I feel like I got more for my money with this brand than I would have with others of similar construction.Very Happy.

I needed a very simple, basic, but sturdy desk and this works great. It's particle board but I'm not worried about moving it around if I have to. Has a cable management tray which I'm sure is useful if you receive people on the backside of the desk but mine is up against the wall so I don't really have a use for it, although the tray does seem to be somewhat lower quality than the desk itself.
