Love the RX-950

For the past few months I have been using the ProRower RX-950 at my local Snap Fitness and really like the feel of the water as I row. So, I recently purchased one for myself and could not be happier! It was a pleasant surprise to find a commercial grade rower that was affordable enough for me to purchase for my home. The rower was easy to assemble and came with chlorine tablets for the water. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this product to a friend.

I've been trying for the longest time to find a suitable rowing machine that would support my size and weight (6'1" & 300+ lbs) and kept hitting dead-ends with machines that were too "light weight" or just too expensive... That in itself was frustrating as one would think companies would make "heavy duty" machines to cater to larger people working on getting fit... I looked at everything from "bikes" to "rowers" too, all too wimpy in construct...My Wife actually found this one and after reading various reviews on the net and speaking with a Rep from the company I went forward with my purchase and I must say I couldn't be happier for it... The machine is everything I was looking for and will suit my needs for a long time to come... Set up for me was VERY easy, the only glitch was that some bolts had come loose in transit and were lost out of the carry holes on the box (I'm assuming)... It was nothing that prevented me from being able to set up the rower as it uses multiple bolts to hold the railing... One quick call to the GREAT folks at "H2O Fitness" and replacements were on their way... They are a true pleasure to deal with... It is SOLID in construction and easy to work with... It's not small so you will need room for it and be prepared to receive an enormous heavy box when it's delivered... I would advise having help around on your delivery date... Bottom line, it was a great purchase well worth the amount that will see years of use I'm sure... It's smooth and quiet to operate and, for me at least, gives me the exercise I sorely needed but couldn't get otherwise (being disabled with limited walking mobility)... Thank you Amazon for the GREAT price and "H2O Fitness" for the FANTASTIC equipment and service...***UPDATE*** 02-15-2013Been using this machine "religiously" for 60 minute workouts 3 times a week for the last two years. I've lost over 125lbs and the only issue I've had with the machine was when the "bungee" strap broke last October (2012). I called the customer service folks at "H2O Fitness" and got a replacement sent within a few days, no big deal... Considering how much I've used the machine over the last 2 years, that's not bad at all. It's still just as great in my mind as it was when I first got it... Definitely one of the best investments I ever made for my health...

Good Rower, Superior Customer Service

I have to start out with acknowledging that I purchased this Rower through an online fitness retailer that was a sub partner to the other massive online product company (M*********).At first my experience was horrendous. The product arrived damaged, late and numerous hardware pieces were missing that were required to put the product together correctly. Needless to say I was furious and disappointed. I contacted the online fitness retailer and demanded a full refund and a return of the product. I wrote a review on that site detailing my experience and it `mysteriously' disappeared after a day or so on the website. When asked about it, the company couldn't determine `why' it disappeared as they state `we accept critical reviews'.I then started searching the web for other experiences like mine. I came here to Amazon as well. I read the reviewer who indicated they contacted the actual manufacturer of this RX-950 product. So I did as well. I updated them as to what had transpired and they wanted to `make things right'. After sending them photos of my damaged and incomplete RX-950, they stated that they would send me a brand new unit! The original RX-950 was sent UPS Ground (although the online fitness retailer advertised it would ship Fed-X). The RX-950 that was sent by the manufacturer (HealthCare International, a West Coast company) was shipped by Manna shipping. It arrived in `pristine' condition, and the delivery team was `top notch'. I took photos of the team delivering my RX-950 as well as the excellent condition of the RX-950.To finalize the transaction, I was told to `keep' both RX-950's. I can donate or dispose of the originally damaged unit. Talk about SUPERIOR customer service by HCI! Simply outstanding!Now for the 'critique' of the RX-950. It needs to have a `height' adjustable seat. It also needs to have the pulley nearest to the rowing handle to also be `height' adjustable. These design additions would greatly help for those who are TALL in height. Finally, there should be even more resistance offered for this level or rower, 4.5 gallons of water is on the `weak' side for this class rower. Although it is suitable for most average customers.
