5Very sturdy house
By Jackie
I bought this house already built from someone on Craigslist, as a gift for my almost 8 year old daughter. I wanted a house that had 6 rooms, (living room, kitchen, bathroom, parents room, kids room, nursery). I wanted to set it up similar to a dollhouse I had when I was a little girl. All of the rooms are very deep, which was very important to me. Not all dollhouses have such deep rooms. In fact going by the photos I have found of the Alison jr. model, they don't look nearly as deep as the rooms on my dollhouse are. Since this house is for play, and not just for show, I wanted there to be a lot of space to rearrange the furniture and move the dolls around. The kitchen is a a bit narrow, so its not ideal for the larger kitchen sets with the counters, but the regular fridge, stove, sink, and table will fit in there. This kit sells at Hobby Lobby for a much lower price then $[...]. I believe it was closer to $[...]. I would highly recommend you check your local Hobby Lobby. This house also has a flat roof, which is nice, b/c it can be used as an outside area. I plan to put some fake grass and flowers on mine, and maybe a little swing set. This house is very large, and tall. I will probably need to put it on my daughters floor, b/c otherwise she would not be able to reach the top. I also like that the house has the option for an add on, though it is so large already I dont think it needs it.

5Love this company!
By 11good
I have built 3 dollhouses from the Real Good Toys line and after building and owning dollhouses from other lines, this, in my opinion, is by far the best quality you can buy. VERY sturdy materials and they are cut very accurately. I have not had one problem during assembly where pieces didn't line up...and that's pretty amazing considering how many little parts there are. The more houses you put together, the easier they are, as the construction is similar. My first house took me about 40 hours and the next two took almost half of that. I also get mine from Hobby Lobby; they have great prices and a weekly online coupon. I would highly recommend this company...I had so much fun assembling! Just a tip, I also buy heavy weight scrapbooking paper to use as dollhouse wallpaper...it's a lot cheaper than buying wallpaper and the possibilities are endless. I use wallpaper adhesive to apply.

5I LOOOVE this brand of kit
By M. M
I have a "plum pudding" model of this brand. I did mine at Think Small by Rosebud, 3209 N Clark st, Chicago 773-477-1920. There's no online store and it's not the easiest to find online, either. I reprint this info for you b/c I've read the instructions for these, and am more than grateful to have infinite help in the last Chicago dollhouse store and workshop. This is my second house, and it's 20 times better with working dorbell, inside and outside lights, genuine cherry and mohogany flooring, working neon bar signs. Eventually, I'll have a working TV set. I spend a lot of time there, and these are the nicest people who bend over backwards to help. It's a great social opportunity to hang out with neighbors or your kids. I've met a lot of nice people over there. These are very tough and strong 3/8 plywood and MDF houses, and while they cost more than say the lower-quality Greenleaf stuff, you also get much better materials. Think Small only sells this brand, as after 200 houses, you learn that thinner materials split if you drill holes for wiring. Their prices are more than fair at online prices, but without shipping. When I bought mine, I looked for three days at various sites, and never did find better prices for anything cheaper than Think Small offered.I build my house there, and they help with tools and experienced knowledge, make cuts for extra windows and doors for me (no charge), and can easily match furniture, flooring and wallpaper stuff to it, as the house is right downstairs. I can also use their paint, primer, shellac, varnishes, cutters, knives, brushes, and cleaners for no extra cost than the monthly rent of 45 bucks a month. If you've been to the store, you know all this stuff is not cheap and it quickly adds up. I have a bright pink and purple house stored there, and will be glad to meet you when you come by.
