I bought the Gunmetal Polarized Gray sunglasses back in June 2011 so I've had them for a year. I have mixed feelings about this product. Right when I first got them I was impressed with the style and build quality; very well done. They fit very well, which matters a lot to me as a dude with a massive melon (7 and 3/4" hat size). The polarized lenses worked fantastically and did a great job of giving me clarity, especially when driving. They've lasted the year and the lens only popped out once and that was because I shoved them in my backpack and then leaned against a wall when I forgot they were there; the lens popped back in with no problems and it hasn't come out since.HOWEVER, there is an issue that while not a deal-breaker is definitely an annoyance. If you buy these MAKE SURE you buy something soft to put on the tips of the arms (or legs, whatever you call 'em). If you don't then you WILL end up with scratches on the inside of your lenses from folding the sunglasses. Granted, the scratches aren't huge and don't block a big part of your view, but they are still there and are annoying because if you shift your eyes in a certain direction you may see a slight blurry line.I wish I would've known about this before that way I could've avoided the scratches, but what's done is done and I guess I'll just have to live with them. They're still great sunglasses, but like I said make absolutely sure you buy something soft that you can put on the ends.

I stumbled across the Smith Serpico sunglasses about 5 years ago. I'm on my third pair now -- because I lose them -- and always, always return to these. I love them for a few reasons:1) There is absolutely NO distortion in these lenses. As cliche as it may sound, I sometimes forget that I'm wearing them. They cover your complete field-of -vision and offer extreme optical clarity.2) The polarized lenses are top-notch. I've never once noticed the polarizing pattern in the lenses, even in bright reflections. You know it's great when you don't notice it.3) Smith offers a lifetime warranty on these. You DO need to provide a receipt (made easy through Amazon), but they have a quick turnaround with no hassle. I managed to bend up the first pair I had badly, but Smith replaced them -- no questions asked -- quickly and painlessly.4) They're extremely comfortable and the bayonet-style temples never poke your ears or head. I wear mine from sun-up to sundown without any discomfort. They fit snugly enough that they won't go flying off your face and stay in position well, even when turning your head abruptly or leaning over. But they're not overly-tight; offering absolutely no discomfort even after 10 hours of wear. These are some of the best sunglasses available in my opinion. Coupled with a price that's below many of the competitive equivalents and a lifetime warranty, they (continue to) come across as a bargain. If/when I lose this third pair, rest assured the fourth will be on their way.

i had the gold ones for 3 years and they were pretty beat up and i cracked a lens. i thought id give the purple mirror pair a try. theres a complaint i hear that the end of the temple covers can scratch the inside of the lenses when folded and it did happen to my old pair but theres a really easy fix. i had some little black rubber screw caps that fit perfectly over the ends and blend into the design. i dont have to worry about scratching the insides. oh and i fricken love these glasses. best pair i ever had.
