I got this after trying a $99 digital slide scanner. Not only is it a lot faster to use, the results are sharper and seem to have more dynamic range. In addition, you can play with the exposure more easily to get better results.

I've tried several ways to copy a lot of slides at once, and this by far the best I've found. Not only is it fast, but you control the quality by the camera you use, unlike the standalone copiers.You have the ultimate control, using all of the exposure, focusing, and cropping features of the camera.Opteka HD² Slide Copier for Canon PowerShot A590 A570 IS Digital CameraOne thing that bugged me at first, was knowing which end the camera attached, there were no photos--so I submitted one.One important tip, remember to purchase one, Sakar 52mm Lens Barrel Adapter (For Canon PowerShot A570, A590). This allows the copier to mechanically attach to the camera. (It attaches in place of the removable bezel--push button--at the base of the camera's lens.)
