Budget friendly beginner guitar

The finish is a smooth and metallic. The neck is satin and not rough on the fingers. My guitar was very rough around the 3-way switch but that may be an isolated incident (hopefully) and I will do a small amount of filing to fix that. I love that amp cord came with it. The 3/4 size is perfect for those that are petite or for a child. I really liked the size of my daughter's Daisy Rock Debutante Heartbreaker Short Scale Pink Heart Electric Guitar but I wanted a "grown up" guitar, so this works out great for that purpose. I'm playing it with Rocksmith for PS3 and it's just great. Anyway, for the price I paid, I'm thoroughly satisfied (purchased mine through Amazon Warehouse Deals - open box specials). A well made little solid body, ideal for youngsters wanting to learn and play on until they can handle a full size. The finish is fabulous and components are decent quality. However, when setting the intonation/harmonics I ran into trouble. the bridge is about 3mm out of position, too close to the neck. Not even taking the springs off the bridge saddles helped. To make it worse, with the screws for adjustment being so long and having to tighten them right up to the hilt, the screws actually hit the strings. All this solved by re-drilling the holes and moving the bridge plate back to where it should have been. However, despite that, this has to be the best value 3/4 electric on the market. Hopefully Dean will get their Chinese factory to check the bridge position. Whilst the intonation issue was missed in the set up done in USA (sticker says they do) the action is superb and my son is having a total ball with his Dean.

It's good enough for me, I been playing guitar and bass for 40 years, and always set up my own guitars, this guitar plays well, however, you can not adjust the bridge to tune to the perfect pitch at 12th fret, but it is close enough, only the professional can hear, and this guitar is for my son, and you are most likely buying for your youngster, so, like i said , it is good enough for me, change to a lighter string, and have the pros to lower the string action, it will help your young one to play easier.
