Good overall

Overall I liked the gauge kit, it looks really smart and I would probably buy another, but there were some things I wasn't so happy with:(1) The chrome finish on the gauge cover was a bit pitted (kinda looked like rust)(2) The gauge fits inside the cover, which in turn fits inside the bracket that mounts to the rocker cover. The assembly is then held secure by a small (8/32") grub screw which screws through the bracket and then bears directly onto the side of the gauge. I personally think this idea is rubbish and reeks of poor design (which is a shame really because the rest of the design is great). I had to take the tank off in order to fit the gauge, and I will also have to take the tank off in order to tighten the grub screw if it comes loose (might pay to use some loctite)(3) The clearance between the tank on my 1998 Fat Boy and the bracket attached to the rocker cover is pretty tight (about 2mm, or 5/64"), although they don't seem to touch at all when the motors running.(4) The gauge is oil filled and has a bubble inside the gauge (which I understand you have to have to allow for expansion). However, the bubble is kinda large and covers about a third of the gauge when installed - not sure if anything could be done about this?As an aside, I really liked the way the oil line for the gauge is fitted. You fit the oil line by removing the tappet screen plug and replacing it with an adapter supplied in the kit. The oil line then screws into the adapter. That way you don't have to mess around with oil pressure switch.
